My Top 10 Workout Songs of All Time

Here are my all-time Top 10 Workout Songs

10. Good Morning Freedom - Blue Mink

I discovered this gem while watching an episode of AMC's Breaking Bad. It has a happy-go-lucky beat and lyrics that will make you want to move to Malibu.

9. Don't stop the Music - Rihanna

I've been a fan of this song since I first heard it. What makes me LOVE this track is the sample of Michael Jackson's iconic verse, "Mama say mama sa mama Coosa."

8. Better In Color - Lizzo

I was late to the party discovering this song. You may need to turn your earbuds down for the start of this track because the beat comes in HARD. My only complaint is the song is way too short.

7. Higher Ground - TNGHT

Under Armour masterfully featured this song in a commercial revolving around the start of football training camp. The Under Armour version of the song interlaces a speech from Ray Lewis. The track is a great cadence setter.

6. The Chain - Fleetwood Mac

This classic starts as a slow burn and ends with a roar which makes it perfect for warmups, workouts, and cooldowns.

5. Run Boy Run - Woodkid

The "Where the Wild Things" style video for the song is fantastic. The simple uptempo beat is not overpowering. The song is one of many great songs from this group.

4. Hearts On Fire - John Cafferty (Rocky IV)

When most people talk about the music in the Rocky franchise, the first song usually mentioned is "The Eye of the Tiger," in my opinion, Rocky IV's montage song "Hearts on Fire" is arguably the better song. If you really want to feel like you can run through a brick wall, play the YouTube montage version with the late great Tony Burton yelling "No Pain" at Rocky as he trains.

3.Motivation - T.I.

Great beat, great rapping, it’s motivation. Enough said!

2. Ruff Ryders Anthem - DMX

Some tracks take you to a simpler time. A time before social media ruled the world. A time when going to the record store to buy music was still a thing. Ruff Ryders Anthem has that nostalgic vibe. It's impossible not to nod your head when listening to this classic. RIP DMX!

  1. Contact - Daft Punk

When I listen to this song, it feels like I'm running down the face of a snow-covered mountain with rocket-propelled shoes. The way the tempo builds as the song progresses makes it a perfect track to listen to while doing high-intensity training.

Honorable Mention:

  1. Going On - Gnarls Barkley

  2. In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins

  3. Liberation - Outkast

  4. Dont'stop me now - Queen

  5. Sail -Awol Nation

  6. Titanium - David Guetta featuring Sia

  7. Another One Bites the Dust - Queen
